Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda’s Los Volcanoes National Park

Gorilla trekking is nowadays much easier than it used to be, and although some begrudge the change, we think it can only be a good thing. Since one no longer needs to hike for 10 hours through dense forest to get a glimpse of the gentle giants, it can only mean one thing: anyone can do it! The hike can be tough at times as the tracked gorilla families have a pesky way of moving swiftly, yet once the hard part is over, you’ll come face to face with what many believe to be the most remarkable mammal on earth: the mountain silverback gorilla. Numbers are limited, permits are expensive and you’ll only be allowed to stare in awe for an hour, yet if there’s one thing, one activity you really shouldn’t miss when visiting Africa, it would have to be Gorilla trekking in Rwanda.
